How to configure an Android Device

From Spiffy Stores Knowledge Base

These steps work for most of our customers, but sometimes you might need to make some additional changes depending on where you live and which ISP(s) you use.

NOTE: The steps to set up email on your Android device might be a little different depending on your make/model and your network provider. However, all the information you need to set up your account (username, password, server settings) is in these steps.

To Set up Email on Your Android-based Device

1. Open your device's email application.

1.1 If you already have an email account set up, press Menu and tap Accounts. Press Menu again and tap Add account.

1.2 Type your Email address and Password, and click Next.

1.3 You should set up your account as a POP3 account.

2. Use these settings for your incoming server:

2.1 Username: Enter your full Spiffy Stores email address. e.g. auto@storedemo.spiffystores.com

2.2 Password: Enter your email account password.

2.3 POP3 server: mail.spiffystores.com

2.4 Port: 995

3. Use these settings for your outgoing server:

3.1 SMTP server: mail.spiffystores.com

3.2 Port: 465

3.3 Security type: SSL

3.4 Select "Require sign-in" and enter your full Spiffy Stores email address. e.g. auto@storedemo.spiffystores.com and password.

3.5 Tap Next.

3.6 Tap Next again. Name your account and enter the name you want to display on outgoing messages.

3.7 Tap Done.

That's it. If everything is working OK, you should see some email messages. To make sure you can send messages, go ahead and compose an email and send it to yourself.
